Common Issues & Solutions

Quick solutions to frequently encountered problems.

Account & Sign In

Magic link expired

Problem: The sign-in link says it's expired. Solution: Request a new magic link. Links expire after 1 hour for security.

Can't sign in with Google

Problem: Google sign-in isn't working. Solution:

  1. Clear your browser cookies
  2. Try an incognito/private window
  3. Ensure pop-ups aren't blocked

Signed out unexpectedly

Problem: You keep getting signed out. Solution:

  1. Check if you're using incognito mode (sessions don't persist)
  2. Ensure cookies are enabled
  3. Try the "Create Password" option for more reliable login

Bible Reader

Chapter not loading

Problem: Bible text won't load or shows blank. Solution:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Pull down to refresh
  3. Try a different translation
  4. Clear browser cache

Translation not changing

Problem: Switching translations doesn't work. Solution:

  1. Wait for the page to fully load
  2. Try closing and reopening the chapter
  3. Clear the app cache

Ask AI

Reached daily limit

Problem: "You've reached your daily question limit" Solution:

  • Wait until midnight (your timezone) for reset
  • Consider upgrading for more questions
  • Free: 5/day, Plus: 20/day, Scholar: 50/day

Answer seems incomplete

Problem: AI response cut off or incomplete. Solution:

  1. Ask a more specific question
  2. Try rephrasing your question
  3. Ask follow-up questions for more detail

Not getting relevant answers

Problem: Answers don't address your question. Solution:

  1. Be more specific in your question
  2. Include Scripture references if relevant
  3. Try changing the tradition focus

Reading Plans

Can't start a new plan

Problem: "You've reached your active plan limit" Solution:

  • Free tier: 1 active plan
  • Complete or leave a current plan
  • Upgrade for more active plans

Progress not saving

Problem: Completed days aren't staying marked. Solution:

  1. Ensure you're signed in
  2. Check internet connection
  3. Wait a moment after marking complete
  4. Refresh the page

Plan content in wrong language

Problem: Text appears in unexpected language. Solution:

  1. Check the language selector on the plan page
  2. Select your preferred language
  3. Not all plans have all languages

Study Groups

Can't join a group

Problem: Join button doesn't work. Solution:

  1. Ensure you're signed in
  2. Check if the group requires approval
  3. Verify the group isn't full

Can't create a group

Problem: No option to create groups. Solution: Group creation requires Scholar tier ($24.99/mo).

Mobile / PWA

App not installing

Problem: Can't add to home screen. Solution:

  • iOS: Must use Safari (not Chrome)
  • Android: Use Chrome and look for install prompt
  • Try visiting the site multiple times

Notifications not working

Problem: Not receiving reading reminders. Solution:

  1. Install the PWA first (required for notifications)
  2. Check device notification settings
  3. Ensure notifications are enabled in app settings

Content not available offline

Problem: Can't read without internet. Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Offline Reading
  2. Download your preferred translations
  3. Wait for download to complete (4-6 MB each)

General Issues

Page won't load

Solution:

  1. Check internet connection
  2. Try refreshing the page
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Try a different browser

Slow performance

Solution:

  1. Close other browser tabs
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Disable browser extensions temporarily
  4. Try the mobile app version

Something looks wrong

Solution:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Clear cache and cookies
  3. Try incognito/private mode
  4. Report the issue via Contact Us
