Add TheoScriptura to your home screen for an app-like experience on iOS devices.

What is a PWA?

TheoScriptura is a Progressive Web App (PWA). This means:

• No App Store download — Install directly from Safari
• App-like experience — Full screen, home screen icon
• Always updated — No manual updates needed
• Works offline — Downloaded content available without internet

Installation Steps

Step 1: Open in Safari

1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad
2. Go to theoscriptura.com
3. Sign in to your account (optional but recommended)

Important: You must use Safari. Other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) don't support iOS PWA installation.

Step 2: Open the Share Menu

1. Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari
   • It looks like a square with an arrow pointing up
2. Scroll through the share options

Step 3: Add to Home Screen

1. Find and tap Add to Home Screen
2. Edit the name if desired (default: "TheoScriptura")
3. Tap Add in the top right

Step 4: Launch the App

1. Find the TheoScriptura icon on your home screen
2. Tap to open
3. Enjoy the full-screen app experience!

After Installation

When launched from the home screen:

• Opens in full screen (no Safari toolbar)
• Has its own entry in the app switcher
• Supports offline reading (with downloaded translations)

Enable Notifications

To receive reading reminders:

1. Open TheoScriptura from your home screen
2. Go to Settings → Notifications
3. Allow notifications when prompted
4. Configure your reminder preferences

Note: You must install the PWA to enable notifications on iOS.

Troubleshooting

"Add to Home Screen" not appearing

• Make sure you're using Safari (not Chrome or other browsers)
• Scroll through all share options — it may be hidden below the fold
• Try reloading the page and sharing again

App not working offline

• Download translations in Settings → Offline Reading
• Ensure content is fully downloaded before going offline

Notifications not working

• Check iOS Settings → TheoScriptura → Notifications
• Make sure the app was installed from Safari
• Reinstall from Safari if needed
