The promises of God in the Bible are the bedrock of Christian hope. Scripture records thousands of divine promises, and Joshua 21:45 testifies that not one of them has ever failed. These covenant promises span every area of life: God pledges salvation to all who believe, the assurance that He will never leave nor forsake His people (Hebrews 13:5), and the confidence that all things work together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Second Peter 1:4 calls them precious promises through which believers participate in the divine nature. The key to understanding all of God's promises is 2 Corinthians 1:20—every promise of God finds its Yes in Christ. This means Jesus is the guarantee and fulfillment of every divine pledge. From the promise of salvation to the future hope of a new heaven and new earth where God will wipe away every tear, believers can stand on the promises of a faithful God who cannot lie. Trusting these promises transforms anxiety into peace, fear into courage, and grief into hope.
