How do I fast as a Christian?

Fasting is voluntarily abstaining from food (or other things) to focus on prayer and seeking God. Jesus assumed believers would fast ('when you fast' - Matthew 6:16). Fast privately, not for show. Start small—skip a meal and pray instead. Stay hydrated. Combine fasting with Scripture and specific prayer requests.

Key Scripture

But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret.

- Matthew 6:17-18
