Who was Origen of Alexandria?
Origen of Alexandria (c. 185–253 AD) was a patristic theologian. One of the most prolific writers in early Christianity. Origen pioneered allegorical interpretation of Scripture, produced the Hexapla (a six-column comparison of Old Testament texts), and wrote extensive commentaries on nearly every book of the Bible.
