How we write and review our articles

TheoScriptura articles are drafted with AI and reviewed by a person before they are published. This page says what that means, so you can weigh what you read.

Who reviews each article?

Nelson D'Souza, TheoScriptura's founder, reviews every article before it is published. His name is on each one for that reason: he is the person accountable for it.

How is a draft made?

An AI model writes the first draft. It is given Bible passages and passages from our library of historic commentaries and theological works, among them Matthew Henry, John Calvin, John Wesley and the Church Fathers, and it is told to quote and name those sources rather than speak in general terms.

Works in the public domain may be quoted directly. Works still under copyright are paraphrased and credited, never reproduced.

What else on the page is generated?

The illustration at the top of each article is generated with AI. Translations into Spanish, Hindi, Indonesian and Turkish are machine translations of the reviewed English article; they are not reviewed separately.

How can I check a claim?

Articles link the Bible verses they discuss, and list their references at the end. Where an article draws on a historic work, we link the primary text so you can read the source in full rather than our summary of it.

What if something is wrong?

Write to support@theoscriptura.com. When we correct an article, its “Updated” date changes.
