“and God commends His own love to us, that, in our being still sinners, Christ died for us;”— Romans 5:8 (LSV)
5and the hope does not make ashamed, because the love of God has been poured forth in our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
6For in our being still ailing, Christ in due time died for the impious;
7for scarcely for a righteous man will anyone die, for the good man perhaps someone also dares to die;
8and God commends His own love to us, that, in our being still sinners, Christ died for us;
9much more, then, having been declared righteous now in His blood, we will be saved through Him from the wrath;
10for if, being enemies, we have been reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved in His life.
11And not only [so], but we are also boasting in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we now received the reconciliation;
